The BOOST 160 is a 28-pole BLDC motor (brushless outrunner). It was designed in-house at Pichler to the latest standards and impresses with the highest quality, peak performance and robustness. What many people do not know: in the early 2000s PICHLER was one of the pioneers on the German market who fully backed the outrunner concept and carried the corresponding motors. The open design is a key feature, because the propeller airflow cools the motor from the inside as well, and only a motor that runs cool delivers consistently high power. The practical, integrated propeller mount is matched exactly to the propeller sizes used with motors of this class. No additional adapters are needed, in particular none that require the propeller to be bored out excessively and thereby weakened. A sturdy machined 4-point mounting ring allows easy installation in the model. An additional large ball bearing supports the bell at the rear (bell support bearing) absolutely rigidly, ensures perfect concentricity and prevents damage to the shaft bearings.
The BOOST 160 motor is a powerful replacement for petrol engines of about 30cc. The specially developed BMG-80 gearbox is also available for this motor, allowing large propellers of over 25 inches to be used.
Application
- 3D model aircraft up to 6kg
- Aerobatic models up to 9kg
- Sport/trainer models up to 13kg
Scope of delivery
- Motor, assembled ready for use
- CNC-machined motor mount
- Instructions
Features
- 80mm outside diameter – high torque and less radial load
- Shorter overall length allows better installation options
- 28 poles = smooth running with no jerking or stuttering
- Large ball bearings including a huge bell support bearing
- Integrated propeller mount with 10mm shaft
- Perfect ventilation – cooler running and more power
- Ready to install, CNC-machined motor mount included
Please make sure the ESC you use is also suitable for 28-pole motors. We recommend Pichler XQ+ ESCs, which work very well with 28-pole motors.
